Well, I started this topic to complement the general guide in the link compilation. The idea is to have a open forum where we can discuss how to optimize grid, which plug-ins are good and so on. My first point of interest is adding a new debuff to the grid frame. Normally you’d see debuffs that are of your concern depending on the type of school, but this isn’t the case with everything. For instance, there are debuffs that are undispellable and physical, and these won’t normally show. To make these show on grid, follow the guide I’ve done here:

Let’s say I want to add a debuff called “New Debuff”. First of all, you have to define this as a new debuff so grid will recognize it. To do this, open the grid menu and mark the “Aura” tab. Here you add the new debuff by simply writing the name, and pressing enter. To make sure it was correctly added, expand the Aura directory and see if you can find it.

When you have done this, it’s time to make sure you are notified when someone is afflicted by the debuff. To do this, go to Frame -> Center Icon directory, and look for the new debuff you added. In this case, it’s “Debuff: New Debuff”. Simply check the checkbox, and your done. Whenever someone gets one of these debuffs, it will show as a spell icon inside the framebox of that person.

Now, here’s my list of debuffs you should add to grid, sorted by raids:

Ulduar

“Slag Pot” – With this added, you will see who is stuck in the slag pot of Ignis the Furnace Master.

“Searing Light” – This debuff is used by XT and is commonly referd to as lightbomb.

“Gravity Bomb” – Also used by XT, might come in handy to know who got it.

“Stone Grip” – This ability is used by Kologarn and, as most of you know, folks geting caught by this will take a lot more damage.

“Napalm Shell” – This spell is used by Mimiron, and leaves a ticking debuff on the target.

“Sara's Fervor” – Applied by Yogg-saron during the Sarah phase, increases damage done by 20% and damage taken by 100% for 15 seconds. This person will likely spike.

“Sara's Blessing” - Applied by Yogg-saron during the Sarah phase, Heals for 27,000 to 33,000 instantly, but causes 3,000 Shadow damage every 1 second, for 20 seconds

“Malady of the Mind” – An annoying spell used by Yogg-saron, fearing you about and doing damage. When it has completed its duration, it will attempt to jump to another player. So, anyone with this should be avoided.

Trial of the Crusader

“Incinerate Flesh” – A debuff added by Lord Jaraxxus in ToC that negates healing. A top priority as most of you know, so a this should always be added.

“Legion Flame” – When someone get afflicted by this they will spawn fires beneth them and obviously die if they don’t move. A good idea to hot anyone geting this debuff for instance.

“Acid-Drenched Mandibles” - This debuff is applied by the scarabs at the Anub’arak encounter. This particular debuff stacks indefinetly, and if doing hardmode, anyone caught with more than 5 stacks when phase 3 starts will most likely die. Good to have added to predict incoming damage.

“Penetrating Cold” – This debuff is applied by Anub’arak when is not submerged. This does heavy damage at hardmode, particularly at phase 3 when he is also leeching. Being able to see makes it easier to predict and prioritize.

Icecrown Citadel

“Impaled” – Now confirmed to be the debuff a person get if he/she is afflicted by “Bone Spike Graveyard”.

“Necrotic Strike” – This debuff is applied by adds at the Lady Deathwhisper encounter. It works like the incinerate flesh debuff, only negating less healing but doing damage at the same time. If a tank get this when he/she is at 50% and the damage spikes, you won't be able to top the health, so spaminghealing the addtank when the adds spawn is advised.

“Blood Nova” – Used by Deathbringer Saurfang, works pretty much like a lightbomb at XT. Anyone caught near the person with this debuff will take 10k damage when it explodes, hence being ready to cast Circle of Healing or Wild Growth with this person as a target will be very effective. This is a 25man ability.

“Boiling Blood” - This is a debuff ticking for 9,5k dmg every 3 seconds for 24 seconds. Anyone with this debuff wil obviously take a lot damage and should hold your attention.

"Mark of the Fallen Champion" - Pretty much a soft enrage timer, if you can't manage his bllood power stacking up, you will have too many people geting this and it will overwhelm the healers. Out of personal experience it does aprox twice or more the damage of Boiling Blood, making it a person you have to heal constantly.

"Mutated Infection" - This is thew debuff Rotface applies to a person which will spawn a slime when it is dispelled/consumed. Need a few hots here to say the least

"Vile Gas" - The hangoverdot that festergut uses on a random ranged person that makes the spew like mad and take some dmg. Require a little more healing that the rest taking dmg from the cloud.

"Gaseous Bloat" - a tricky but veery predicable debuff that the Gas cloud (orange) applies at the Putricide encounter. The person will be slowed down considerably, and should kite it. It start out with 10 stacks, slowly building down. If the gas cloud reaches the person with 10 stacks, the raid will take heavy aoe dmg, allmost certainly whiping the raid. The lower stacks, the lower aoe dmg you take when he reaches his target - but then, he shouldn't reach unless the dps is slacking.

"Volatile Ooze Adhesive" - The second add is the ooze, which applies this particular debuff. It roots the person to the ground, dealing dmg and moving toward him/her. If he reaches the target, the persons within 10 yards will take 165 000 dmg shared and be nocked back. This means, the ranged should hug him to split the dmg as evenly as possibly. It is also worht mentioning that if the add doesn't die after the first explosion, it will just repeat the process and explode again - however the second is almost a 100% whipe. This debuff does about 5 times the dotdmg of the gas cloud.

Last but not least, if you have any debuffs you’d like to add to this list, by all means write it and I will update the list.
